The coast (la Côte) is a region of vineyards, mountains, countrysides and attractive cities on the shores of Lake Geneva. The Geneva-Lausanne Riviera is a holiday region that exploits its history, land and culture to the full.

The Côte is a diversified region, known mainly for the largest vineyard in the region, which faces Lake Geneva and its grapes produce excellent red and white wines. The most important grape variety is Chasselas, a white wine served in all the winegrowers' cellars.

Morges and Nyon are cities with a lacustrian atmosphere, nestled in the middle of the vineyards. Morges, facing Mont Blanc, is guarded by its medieval castle while Nyon, a Roman city, preserves its heritage but also hosts many festivals including the famous "Paléo Festival".

Outside the cities, visitors can discover legendary castles and cities as well as lush landscapes. Hikers can explore the vast natural expanses of the Parc du Jura vaudois, as far as the Jura mountains. The Saint-Cergue mountain resort is a haven of peace that offers activities in winter (skiing, snowshoeing, etc.) and in summer (walking and cycling).
